I am sure many of your thoughts are now turning to summer, which more often than not involves exposing your flesh. Unwanted hair removal used to be limited to painful waxing or epilating, time consuming shaving or daily plucking which for many of us can cause painful ingrown hairs, unsightly stubble or rashes.
Lasers for hair removal have advanced significantly over the last few years from a very painful time-consuming experience to one that is likened to just a hot stone massage with the Soprano XLi.
Myths and common questions
"I have heard its really painful" - Not anymore! Soprano XLi Diode New 'in motion' technology and dual-chilled cooling tip is a much more comfortable experience, like a hot stone massage with a bit of occasional prickling.
"I heard it doesn't work on fine, lightbrown, downy hair" - Soprano reaches the follicle due to the longer wavelength of laser light and is able to treat finerlight- brown hair. No laser works on white, grey or blonde hair due to lack of pigment.
"I am Asian and have heard laser is unsuitable for my skin"- Soprano XLi diode laser is safe and effective for all skin types.
"Isn't it very expensive?" - Prices are much more competitive now and it is an investment. Add up waxing over a few years and laser works out much cheaper in the long run and for permanent hair reduction.
Watch out for 'too good to be true' deals on voucher sites. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
Make sure a trained nurse or doctor treats you. Ask to see their certificates, ask how long they have been qualified and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Look at the premises- is it clean and well maintained? Do they have indemnity or public liability insurance?
Make sure you have a thorough consultation and a medical questionnaire is completed.
There are always risks with any treatments but by following our guidelines and aftercare we hope they will be minimised and you can be one of the million or so people in the UK who are enjoying the amazing benefits of laser hair removal.
