The Hawthorns pupils re-enact Britain’s Medieval past PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:07

The senior pupils at The Hawthorns School in Bletchingley were transported back to the Medieval period on Wednesday 18th January.

They all took part in a morning of activities which covered gory topics such as the murder of Thomas Beckett and the Black Death.

Jo Taylor, Head of History, said: "The pupils really enjoyed watching a play in the morning.

They then worked in small groups to produce their own version, along with authentic costumes from the time!"

Pictured above right is Hawthorns pupil, Jack Carter, dressed as Harold Godwinson who died on the battlefield at the Battle of Hastings after taking an arrow in the eye.
