Detectives from east Surrey have arrested a man in connection with a burglary in which distinctive hand made pieces of jewellery were stolen.
A 20-year-old man, from New Addington, was arrested on Friday (29 January) and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The jewellery was stolen sometime between Tuesday, 12 January and Thursday, 14 January from a large house near East Hill, Oxted. Items stolen include a diamond bracelet worth £2,500, diamond earrings estimated to be worth £1,000 and a solitaire diamond on a white gold chain worth £1,000.
Investigating officer PC Karen Bradley said: “We remain committed to recovering the stolen items of jewellery, which were of significant sentimental value, and would ask that if anyone is offered such pieces for sale, they contact Surrey Police or Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.”
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222 quoting reference TD/10/259 or Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.
