Caterham Rotary Responds to African Drought. PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 23 September 2011 09:11

Caterham Rotary President, David Mole (right) presents the cheque to Rotary International Committee Chairman Rod Stead.

Caterham Rotary has donated £500 for the relief of hunger in the current famine in the Horn of Africa. The club decided that the key factor was to route contributions to established charities with a presence on the ground in the affected areas. Therefore they have channelled their contribution through the Disaster Emergency Committee who spread their funding over the fourteen well-known charities who comprise the Committee and can make best use of the funds.

Caterham Rotary also supports 'Shelterboxes' on a regular basis who distribute aid to provide shelter and assistance to people displaced by the famine and flooding all over the world.

For more information about Caterham Rotary please see their website www.caterhamrotary.org and/or phone Roger Easter on 0208 763 8240.
