Essendene schoolchildren on Home Clothes Day displaying their colourful postersThe children and School Council from Essendene Lodge School were so moved by the pictures they saw on the news about the earthquake in Haiti, they approached staff and asked if they would help organise a fundraising event to raise money for the cause.

Several ideas were put forward and it was decided to have a Home Clothes Day on Friday, 29th January, where a donation would be made.

Children produced posters to promote the day and raise awareness and by the end of the day £370.52 had been raised for the earthquake victims in Haiti.
