The colourful, Easter-themed table display by the Brownies.

On Saturday 31st March the Caterham and District Horticultural Society held its Spring Show at Hillcroft School in Caterham-on-the- Hill. The hall was filled with colourful exhibits that included homemade produce and crafts in addition to the flower and vegetable displays.

The 9th Caterham Brownies and Guides and the 4th Caterham Brownies entered the Children's classes with tables full of Easter Bonnets and Easter Chicks together with their pictures and handwriting entries. President of the Society, Roger Davies presented cups to Mrs Meenahan, Jacky Hughes, Joe Perera and Tabitha Wren.

Following the presentation of the awards the exhibitors donated their entries for auction.

The Society was established in 1886 and hosts three shows a year, a talk at The Arc and a summer outing for its members.

The Society sells gardening products at their Trading Hut located behind the allotments in Westway, Caterham- on-the-Hill and is open to members Saturday's 9.30-12.00 for products and advice on all aspects of gardening. A plant sale is being held at the Trading Hut on the morning of Saturday, 12th May.

Membership of the Society costs £3 a year. For more information about membership contact Mrs Brohier on 01883 242928.

I'm sorry to point out so many inaccuracies in what is an imporant Community event
