The Old Cats Under 12's following their win at the Surrey Rugby A Festival.

Old Caterhamians under 12's rugby team had plenty to celebrate recently when they won the Plate competition at the Surrey Rugby A Festival, held at Dorking Rugby Club. The team faced the best 25 clubs in Surrey, all much bigger clubs and still managed to emerge victorious!

The final against Richmond finished in a hard fought draw, so both teams rightly shared the spoils.

Coach Matt Day said: "We are all really proud of the boys. Richmond are a massive club with huge resources so this is a major result. The forward unit, led by our captain Jack Perry, was fantastic, with the scrum holding up against all opposition."

As a result of this win, next season Old Cats will go forward into one of the top Surrey Leagues, taking on the bigger clubs again. Coach Russell Taylor said, "Next season will be another massive challenge. We are always pleased to welcome new players at the club and cater for all abilities, beginners and seasoned players alike."
