A Surrey County Council event to encourage more people to foster attracted 17 potential families.

The event, held at the Bridge House Hotel in Reigate on 5th July, is part of a recruitment drive to get more people to become foster carers.

Sixteen of the 17 families expressed further interest in fostering and members of Surrey’s fostering team will now visit them to discuss caring for children in more detail.

Individuals, couples and families interested in fostering can find out more at the next open evening which will be held at the Hoebridge Golf Centre in Woking on 2nd August. The event runs from 6.45pm until 8.30pm and booking is not essential.

This will be followed by an event on 28th September from 10am until 12pm at the Runnymede Centre in Chertsey.

To find out more visit www.surreycc.gov.uk/fostering or call the fostering team on 08000 969626.
