Christmas and New Year holiday opening hours and contacts

Tandridge District Council’s Offices in Oxted will close on Friday 24 December 2010 at 12 noon and reopen on Wednesday 29 December 2010 at 8.30am. The offices will also be closed on Monday 3 January 2011. Otherwise the offices will be open as normal.

Out of hours Council emergency service

The Council ' s out of hours service (telephone number 01883 722000) deals with emergencies involving life and limb, serious noise nuisances, including faulty car and burglar alarms, dangerous structures, emergencies in the Council ' s housing stock and sewers.

Calls are diverted to the emergency answering service. If it is an emergency, a council officer will be contacted to deal with it. The Council can only deal with emergencies. By ringing with non-urgent requests the response time to real emergencies will be affected.

Burglar alarms

Anyone away over Christmas, should make sure their burglar alarm is working properly and the Council has details of keyholders. Call 01883 732841 for a registration form or fill one in online at www.tandridge.gov.uk/burglaralarms.

Douglas Brunton Centre

The Douglas Brunton Centre will be closed as follows over Christmas.

¡ Monday 27 December and Tuesday 28 December - closed.

¡ Monday 3 January 2011 - closed.

Surrey County Council Highways

Call 0300 200 1003 for Surrey County Council ' s highways team, or visit www.surreycc.go.uk. The County deals with general road maintenance including roadworks, dead animals on the road, broken traffic lights, road flooding, fallen trees and gritting.

Surrey County Council Social Care services

The Social Care team, which assesses and provides services for older people and those with physical and sensory disabilities and the Community Support Team which provides services for people with learning disabilities, will be available as follows:
