Tandridge among top 20 council websites in the country PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 07 March 2011 09:20

Tandridge District Council’s website (www.tandridge.gov.uk) has been rated among the top 20 best developed council websites in the country, out of 433, for providing online services and information.

Socitm, an independent organisation which represents Information and Communication Technology (ICT) managers in local government, has carried out a survey of all local council websites.

In its latest report Better Connected 2011, Tandridge’s website is given 3 stars out of a possible 4 and named as one of the top 20 council websites in the country. It is also cited as an example of good practice for providing clear links to information about services disrupted by severe weather and for making it easy for people to complete service transactions online.

In addition, the report commented on the easy navigation, links to other sites and excellent content, describing it as a website “that is simple, thoughtful, well-organised and easy to use.”

Leader of the Council, Councillor Gordon Keymer , said: “We are delighted our website is considered one of the top 20 in the country. This is a fantastic achievement for a small district council. We work hard to make the website a comprehensive source of information for residents, businesses and visitors. This report reflects well on the efforts of all our staff who work hard to maintain and improve the website.”
